Paddington returns to Peru to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who is now residing at the Home for Retired Bears. With the Brown family in tow, a thrilling adventure ensues when a mystery plunges them into an unexpected journey. The director of the previous two films, Paul King, decided not to direct this installment. However, he pitched the idea for this third film and was involved as an executive producer. Paddington in Peru is a great and enjoyable film, however, it is the weakest of the 3 Paddington films. It looks great on a big screen, the scenery and locations are beautiful, and the CGI of the bears looks great. The acting and story are good, nothing groundbreaking or better than the previous two films, but the charm of those two is missing in this third one. Still, I had a good time watching this. It had some funny moments and is a fun family film. It’s a little silly at times, which would have worked if the charm was there. Overall, it’s still a great movie that’s worth seeing in the theater.
