Original stories set in the world of cult video games are featured in this animated anthology series. Video games have made a huge leap onto the screen, and we’re celebrating the genre by taking a closer look at over 50 video game adaptations in movies and shows. Clive Standen will reprise his voice as Demetrius Titus, the protagonist of the video game Space Marine 2. The episode takes place after the events of the game. It’s mentioned in the Film Junk podcast: Episode 973: Carry-On (2024). As a longtime fan of Tim Miller’s second show, Love Death + Robots, I was really excited about this. Then I started to notice that not many stories could hold my attention for very long. They ended right before anything interesting happened. I think the show would have benefited from paying more attention to the concepts and ideas in the games it adapts, rather than just showing off how innovative and groundbreaking these games are that you can play instead of watching the show. I liked LDR because it used its short time frame to provide an amazing world and relatable characters, but the episodes here barely do that. Otherwise, the animation is impressive, and the voice cast is excellent. I want to wait until the full set is released before I give my opinion.
